We are inviting expressions of interest for the role of Sessional Counsellor/Play Therapist to work with children & young people (CYP), who have been the victims of crime, under the Victim Counselling Service, (delivered under a call-off contract with the Police and Crime Commissioner for North Yorkshire).
Sessional Counsellors/play therapists must be qualified to Diploma level or equivalent, be accredited with the BACP or the UKCP (or equivalent), or eligible to apply, and have relevant training and experience in counselling children and young people.
The role is subject to a DBS check and police vetting check.
Sessional Counsellors are engaged on a freelance basis, similar to counsellors in private practice undertaking EAP work. Community Counselling does not guarantee any level of work, which is dependent on the number of children and young people who are referred by the commissioners.
There is an option for the successful candidate to deliver sessions on Thursdays at an already established venue in Acomb, York. Alternatively, the successful candidate can provide their own venue.
Please note: Venue costs are paid by the sessional counsellor / play therapist
Fee information for role:

£36.00 per session, including the initial assessment, for all types of clients.

£22.38 for no shows and late-cancelled appointments (within 48 hours).
