Counselling for Victims of Crime

This service is commissioned by the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for North Yorkshire.

Who can access the service?

​

We work with Supporting Victims to offer counselling/therapy to adult and child victims of the most serious types of crime including sexual and domestic abuse.  There is no age limit for this service and the crime does not have to have been reported and can be historical. In engaging with Supporting Victims you are not reporting the crime.

 

Self referrals can be made by calling the number below or your GP or any statutory or voluntary sector organisation, including IDAS (Independent Domestic Abuse Service), can make a referral on your behalf.

What Community Counselling provides

​

The service offers an initial assessment and up to 10 counselling sessions for adults living in Ryedale and Scarborough Borough Districts and up to15 counselling/play and creative therapy sessions for children living in North Yorkshire and York.
