Meet The Team

Chief Officer
Stephen Robling
I am an Accredited Member of the BACP and a qualified counselling supervisor and EMDR practitioner. My original training was in Gestalt but I also incorporate CBT techniques and life coaching skills into my practice. My work experience includes being a Disability Employment Advisor and a Policy Advisor (Women and Equality Unit), I helped to set up the Equality and Human Rights Commission. I have a Prince 2 certificate in Project Management.
I arrived in York 12 years ago. I enjoy living in the historic city but also being within easy reach of the magnificent North Yorkshire countryside.

Deputy Manager
Ellie Johnston
I am a qualified Counsellor, Coach and Insights Discovery Practitioner based in Scarborough. I have worked at length with individuals with anxiety issues, low mood and depression. I have worked in further and higher education, the NHS, national and locally charities. More recently my work has focused on men’s mental health, cancer, and sexual difficulties.

Administrator
Angie Bannister
I have worked in administration for many years, including the charity sector, and have been at Community Counselling for 9 years. In this time there has been huge growth with many new services now being offered and I enjoy the challenges of administration in a busy office environment. I was born in Malton moving to York when I married, but I am now enjoying living back in Malton close to my family and grandchildren.

Tracy Bramley
Finance Manager
I have worked within the charitable and voluntary sector for the past 25-years, helping large and small charities with all aspects of their financial responsibilities; in particular ensuring that they are financially compliant and operating as financially efficient as possible to enable long-term sustainability.
I am a qualified Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA) and a registered Member in Practice, enabling me to also work self-employed, providing a variety of specialist charity accounting services and an independent examination service to charities with a turnover up to £1m.

Communications Assistant
Julie Quick
Having previously worked in travel, the charity sector has been a new area for me and one I am very much enjoying. In addition to admin, I am responsible for the website and Community Counselling social media as well as helping with funding applications. I live locally with my family and enjoy running and riding.

Safeguarding Reporting Assistant
Davina Taylor
I joined CCL as an administrator in 2019. Prior to this I had worked with another charity for many years in both a retail and, latterly, administrative role. CCL has provided me with new challenges and development opportunities and I enjoy being part of an organisation which is centred around something I am passionate about: Mental health and well-being.
When I’m not working, I can usually be found adventuring through the woodland in my local area with my children or helping to care for the animals at Whitby Wildlife Sanctuary.
