How to Access Our Services

In Ryedale, patients, aged 16 and over, can be referred by their GP or another NHS worker e.g. a Mental Health Primary Care Worker to our NHS counselling service, which is free to use for patients.

We have produced an Information Sheet for referrers who may wish to refer patients to our services called "Questions to consider when making a referral". Community Counselling is happy to accept letters from GPs when making referrals but would prefer to receive referrals via the Community Counselling referral form at this greatly facilitates data entry.

In Scarborough District Borough, patients aged 16 and over, can be referred by a GP, or another NHS worker, to the counselling service provided by Community Counselling at the Castle Heath Centre, in York Place.

Patients of Norwood House Surgery can also be referred by their GP, or another NHS worker to the NHS counselling service provided by Community Counselling at the surgery.

Community Counselling also offers counselling for clients who wish to self-refer, rather than be referred by their doctor or another NHS worker.  Please go to the Co-payment Counselling Scheme page for information about this service.
